Despite suffering from several health problems, Hanım Şakir came to Diyarbakır from Şanlıurfa to welcome his son, Muhammed Şakir.

Hanım Şakir, 90, said that she had for years looked forward to seeing the freedom of his son, Muhammed Şakir, who was convicted and sentenced to life in prison based solely on fabricated evidence.

“My son, Muhammed, was 26 when he was arrested. He is now 56 years old and his hair has turned white and his teeth have fallen out. In these 30 years, we have experienced a lot of trouble and persecution, but again, thank Allah,” Şakir said.

“I became very happy when I heard that my son Muhammed Şakir would be freed. I was sick, but still I came here risking my life. I came here to welcome him. While I was waiting at home last night, I couldn't believe it would be morning. Praise be to Allah. May Allah protect both himself and the entire Ummah of Muhammad (PBUH),” she added.

Muhammed Şakir, was known as a member of Hizbullah Jamaah, was arrested on fraudulent evidence fabricated by the Turkish deep state in the Ceylanpınar district of Turkey’s southeastern Şanlıurfa province in 1992.

After about thirty years of imprisonment, Muhammed Şakir will be released from Diyarbakır D-Type Prison late Friday. (ILKHA)
