A 5.2 magnitude earthquake jolts northeastern Japan
A moderate earthquake, measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale, struck off the northeast prefecture of Miyagi on Friday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.

The quake, which hit at 11:55 a.m. at a depth of 50 kilometers, did not pose a tsunami threat, the agency said.
