"Al-Barghouthi's murder after two years of detention in israeli occupation prisons confirms that the Palestinian people are still committed to resisting and confronting the Israeli occupation and will not be deterred by arrests, threats, demolitions, or displacement," Hamas said in a statement issued Tuesday. 

Hamas also called on the Palestinian people to escalate resistance against the zionist occupation in all forms and repel zionist occupation crimes and colonial settler attacks against them and their property.

The Palestinian resistance movement offered its sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.   

Earlier Tuesday, ZOF soldiers fired live rounds at Palestinian demonstrators in Nabi Saleh village to the north-west of Ramallah hitting the youth Nihad al-Barghouthi in his abdomen. He was later pronounced dead in a Ramallah hospital. (ILKHA)
