About 115 kg of heroin seized in eastern Turkey
Anti-narcotics teams of police have seized 114,9 kilograms of heroin in the İpekyolu district of Turkey’s eastern Van province, the Provincial Security Directorate said in a statement on Tuesday.
A sniffer dog named “Thor” helped dig out 114,9 kilograms of heroin hidden in a car stopped for a search in the İpekyolu district, according to the statement.
Turkey maintains strict laws against the use, possession, or trafficking of illegal drugs. If convicted under these offenses, one could receive a heavy fine or a prison sentence of 4 to 24 years. (ILKHA)
