Hamas calls on the AU summit not to grant zionist entity observer status
The Islamic Resistance Movement - Hamas has called on the members attending the African Union summit scheduled for the 5th and 6th of this month to refuse to accept the observer status of the zionist regime.
The Movement affirmed in a statement on Friday that the “occupying entity has practiced, and still is, state terrorism and systematically commits all kinds of crimes against the Palestinian people, their land and their holy sites, and adopts a policy of ethnic cleansing and racial discrimination, according to documented evidence by many international human rights organizations, most recently was the Amnesty International report.”
“The israeli occupation state violates international law and international humanitarian law and refuses to implement dozens of international resolutions or to act on the recommendations of the UN committees that investigated its crimes,” Hamas underlined.
“Granting israel a membership at the AU, even an observer member, is a flagrant violation of the African Charter on Human Rights and the principles and values of the AU and its statute, which provides for the rejection and combating of racism, decolonization and the right to self-determination of peoples," it elaborated.
The Movement called upon all the free peoples of the African continent to declare their solidarity with the Palestinian people, and to pressure to thwart the re-joining of the racist occupying power to the African Union, whose principles and objectives stipulated combating colonialism and racial discrimination.
