Afghan Interior Ministry rejects UN's claim of scores of killings after US withdrawal
Afghanistan’s Interior Ministry on Monday rejected a UN report alleging that over 100 officials and security force members of the previous government were killed by the Islamic Emirate or its allies after the US forces withdrew from the country.
“The UN Secretary-General's information that hundreds of members of the previous government were killed after the rule of the Islamic Emirate is not true,” the Ministry said.
“After a general amnesty, no one is allowed to harm anyone. Some members of the former security forces might have been targeted due to personal disputes. We will investigate such cases and punish the perpetrators,” the Ministry added. (ILKHA)
