Turkey’s agricultural input prices soar in December
Agricultural input price index (Agricultural-IPI) increased by 36.20% annually and 8.52% monthly, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement on Friday.
Agriculture-IPI (2015=100) increased by 8.52% compared to previous month, increased by 32.60% compared to December of the previous year, increased by 36.20% compared to same month of the previous year and increased by 25.40% compared to twelve months moving averages, in November 2021.
Monthly changes by main groups, goods and services contributing to agricultural investment index increased by 4.24% and goods and services currently consumed in agricultural index increased by 9.18%. The goods and services contributing to agricultural investment index increased by 25.68% and the goods and services currently consumed in agricultural index increased by 37.93% compared to same month of the previous year.
Compared to general Agricultural-IPI, lower annual change observed in 8 subgroups while 3 subgroups were higher
Subgroups that indicated low increase were materials with 15.54% and veterinary expenses with 15.88%. On the other hand, fertilizer and soil improvers with 120.54% and farm buildings (non-residential) with 50.51% were the subgroups that high annual increase realized.
Compared to general Agricultural-IPI, lower monthly change observed in 7 subgroups while 4 subgroups were higher
Veterinary expenses with 1.84% and materials with 2.37% were subgroups that indicated low monthly increase. On the other hand, fertilizer and soil improvers with 19.89% and maintenance of materials with 11.10% were the subgroups which high monthly increase realized. (ILKHA)
