Non-domestic producer price index in Turkey rises by 87.64% annually
Non-domestic producer price index (ND-PPI) increased by 87.64% annually and 25.92% monthly, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement on Thursday.
ND-PPI (2010=100) increased by 25.92% monthly, by 87.64% on December of the previous year, by 87.64% on same month of the previous year and by 41.01% on the twelve months moving averages basis in December 2021.
Manufacturing increased by 87.69% annually
ND-PPI in two main sectors of industry increased by 84.76% for mining and quarrying, by 87.69% for manufacturing compared with the previous year.
The indices of main industrial groups; increased by 103.39% for intermediate goods, by 76.38% for durable consumer goods, by 68.17% for non-durable consumer goods, by 176.93% for energy, by 72.60% for capital goods, annually.
Manufacturing increased by 25.88% monthly
ND-PPI in two main sectors of industry increased by 27.73% for mining and quarrying, increased by 25.88% for manufacturing compared with the previous month.
The indices of main industrial groups; increased by 27.18% for intermediate goods, by 26.31% for durable consumer goods, by 24.36% for non-durable consumer goods, by 19.10% for energy, by 27.12% for capital goods, monthly.
Compared to general ND-PPI, lower annual change observed in 18 subdivisions while 7 subdivisions were higher
The lowest rates of annual increase in ND-PPI by subdivisions of industry were for wearing apparel by 56.68%, for printing and recording services by 58.39%, for basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutic preparations by 60.45%. On the other hand, the highest rates of annual increase in ND-PPI by subdivisions of industry were for coke and refined petroleum products by 176.93%, for basic metals by 129.12%, for chemicals and chemical products by 117.84%.
Compared to general ND-PPI, lower monthly change observed in 12 subdivisions while 13 subdivisions were higher
The lowest rates of monthly increase in ND-PPI by subdivisions of industry were for coke and refined petroleum products by 19.10%, for printing and recording services by 19.46%, for wearing apparel by 22.66%. On the other hand, the highest rates of monthly increase in ND-PPI by subdivisions of industry were for chemicals and chemical products by 29.88%, for metal ores by 29.69%, for machinery and equipment n.e.c. by 28.72%.
