CSTO troops complete withdrawal from Kazakhstan
All troops of Russia-led Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) were withdrawn from Kazakhstan, said Russia's Andrei Serdyukov, who led the CSTO mission in the country.
“The peacekeeping operation carried out in accordance with the decision of the CSTO Collective Security Council on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan has been completed,” Serdyukov said.
In accordance with the decision of the CSTO Collective Security Council, adopted on January 6, the Collective Peacekeeping Forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization were sent to the Republic of Kazakhstan for a limited time to stabilize and normalize the situation.
They included units of the armed forces of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic. (ILKHA)
