2,5 kilograms of marijuana seized in eastern Turkey
Turkish security forces have seized 2,5 kilograms of marijuana in an anti-narcotics operation in Turkey’s eastern province, the provincial governorate said in a statement.
When anti-narcotic gendarme teams searched a vehicle they found cannabis, according to the statement.
One suspect was arrested on charges related to marijuana trafficking, the statement said.
The suspected drug dealers will be brought before the court after the police investigation is completed.
Turkey maintains strict laws against the use, possession, or trafficking of illegal drugs. If convicted under these offenses, one could receive a heavy fine or a prison sentence of 4 to 24 years. (ILKHA)
