Turkey’s milk production rises by 2% in October
The amount of collected cow's milk in October increased by 2% when compared to the same month of the previous year, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement on Thursday.
In January-October period increased by 2.1% when compared to the same period of the previous year.
In October, the average fat rate of cow's milk collected by integrated dairies was 3.5%, the average rate of protein was 3.2%.
In October, drinking milk production by integrated dairies increased by 3.1% and became 137 thousand 195 tonnes when compared to the same month of the previous year. In January-October period, drinking milk production decreased by 5.3% and became 1 million 263 thousand 619 tonnes when compared to the same period of the previous year.
In October, yoghurt production by integrated dairies decreased by 3.9% and became 92 thousand 648 tonnes when compared to the same month of the previous year. In January-October period, increased by 0.8% and became 947 thousand 741 tonnes when compared to the same period of the previous year.
In October, butter production increasing by 41.2%, while drink made of yoghurt (ayran) production increasing by 26.4%, and whole milk powder production increasing by 3%, cheese production from cow's milk decreased by 2.7%, skimmed milk powder production decreased by 3.3%, cream production decreased by 22.1% and mixed milk cheese (cheese production obtained from which includes sheep, goat, buffalo and mixed milk) production decreased by 40.4%, when compared to the same month of the previous year.
According to the January-October period of the previous year, while skimmed milk powder production increasing by 20.6%, drink made of yoghurt (ayran) production increasing by 18%, whole milk powder production increasing by 11.9%, butter production increasing by 4.6%, mixed milk cheese (Cheese production obtained from which includes sheep, goat, buffalo and mixed milk) production increasing by 3.3% and cream production increasing by 2.7%, cheese production from cow's milk decreased by 0.3%.
