Turkish police seize 35 kg of heroin in eastern Turkey
One suspect was arrested on charges of drug trafficking in Turkey’s eastern Van province on Sunday.
The drug was seized after security forces stopped and searched a vehicle following an anonymous tip, the Provincial Gendarmerie Command said in a statement.
The suspected drug dealer, identified by initials N.T., will be brought before the court after the police investigation is completed.
Turkey maintains strict laws against the use, possession, or trafficking of illegal drugs. If convicted under these offenses, one could receive a heavy fine or a prison sentence of 4 to 24 years. (ILKHA)
