Palestine: Zionist court okays demolition of 58 homes in Jerusalem
A zionist court has given the green light to demolish 58 Palestinian homes and displace their residents in Wadi Yasoul neighborhood in the east Jerusalem district of Silwan at the pretext of unlicensed construction.
According to local sources, a zionist court rejected on Sunday evening an appeal filed by Jerusalemite citizens against the demolition of their homes in Wadi Yasoul.
Under this decision, it became possible for the zionist municipality in Occupied Jerusalem to raze 58 homes out of 84 threatened with demolition in the neighborhood.
About 60 individuals, including kids, patients, and elderlies, would be rendered homeless if the municipality carried out the measure.
1,050 Jerusalemite citizens live in this neighborhood, which is located southwest of Silwan.
Since 2004, the Wadi Yasoul residents have been trying to license their homes, but to no avail.
The zionist occupation authority wants to demolish this neighborhood and displace its residents in order to establish what it calls “the peace forest,” according to local official Khaled Shuweiki. (ILKHA)
