Turkey’s confidence index decreases in retail trade and construction sectors
Confidence index decreased in services sector while increased in retail trade and construction sectors, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement on Wednesday.
Seasonally adjusted confidence index decreased by 0.7% in services sector, while increased by 0.6% in retail trade and 1.0% in construction sectors in November compared to October.
Services confidence index realized as 119.4
Seasonally adjusted confidence index which was 120.3 for services in October decreased by 0.7% in November to 119.4. In services sector compared to the previous month, business situation over past three months sub-index decreased by 1.2% to 123.2. Demand-turnover over past three months sub-index decreased by 1.5% to 117.3 and demand-turnover expectation over next three months sub-index increased by 0.7% to 117.8.
Retail trade confidence index realized as 121.9
Seasonally adjusted retail trade confidence index increased by 0.6% in November to 121.9. In retail trade sector compared to the previous month, business activity-sales over past three months sub-index decreased by 2.3% to 130.4. Current volume of stock sub-index increased by 4.4% to 99.8 and business activity-sales expectation over next three months sub-index increased by 0.9% to 135.5.
Construction confidence index realized as 93.6
Seasonally adjusted construction confidence index which was 92.7 in October increased by 1.0% in November to 93.6. In construction sector compared to the previous month, current overall order books sub-index became 81.8 by increasing 0.4%. Total employment expectation over next three months sub-index increased by 1.5% to 105.5.
In construction sector, 44.7% of the enterprises indicated at least one factor limiting their activities while 55.3% of the enterprises indicated none in November. Among the main factors limiting activities in construction sector; "financial constraints" which was 30.0% in October realized as 28.6% in November, "insufficient demand" which was 20.6% in October realized as 19.6% in November and "other factors" which was 17.4% in October realized as 13.3% in November.
