Global coronavirus death toll reaches 5 million
About 245 million people have so far tested positive for coronavirus around the world.
The coronavirus outbreak, which was first identified in Wuhan, China, and declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization on March 11, 2020, is continuing to claim the lives of thousands of people across the world.
The United States, the current epicenter of the pandemic, has the highest number of coronavirus-related fatalities, with 761,856 deaths, followed by Brazil with 606,726 deaths, India with 456,418, and Mexico with 287,274 deaths.
Over 222,6 million patients suffering from the disease have so far recovered and been discharged from hospitals worldwide. (ILKHA)
