Pentagon: Al Qaeda leader killed in Syria with drone attack
U.S. Central Command claimed Friday that Al Qaeda leader Abdul Hamid al-Matar had been killed in an airstrike in the vicinity of Suluk, Syria.
“A U.S. airstrike today in northwest Syria killed senior al-Qaeda leader Abdul Hamid al-Matar. We have no indications of civilian casualties as a result of the strike, which was conducted using an MQ-9 aircraft,” U.S. Army Maj. John Rigsbee, a U.S. Central Command spokesperson, said in a statement. (ILKHA)
