Alexander Schallenberg sworn in as Austria’s new chancellor
Alexander Schallenberg, 52, who served as foreign minister, has been sworn in Monday as the new chancellor of Austria by President Alexander Van der Bellen.
After Sebastian Kurz announced his pending resignation on Saturday, Schallenberg was proposed by ÖVP to replace him in the post of Chancellor of Austria.
Schallenberg served as Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Second Kurz government. (ILKHA)
