Global Covid death toll reaches 4,8 million
More than 234 million people have so far tested positive for coronavirus around the world.
The coronavirus outbreak, which was first identified in Wuhan, China, and declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization on March 11, 2020, is continuing to claim the lives of thousands of people across the world.
The United States has the highest number of coronavirus-related fatalities, with 713,953 deaths, followed by Brazil with 596,163 deaths, India with 448,090, and Mexico with 276,972 deaths.
About 211 million patients suffering from the disease have so far recovered and been discharged from hospitals worldwide. (ILKHA)
