At least 9 dead, 6 missing in China after passenger ship capsizes
At least 9 people were killed and seven others were reported missing when a passenger ship capsized on a river in the Liupanshui city of China’s southwestern province of Guizhou.
The accident occurred on Saturday at 4:50 pm local time (8:50 GMT) when a ship carrying 40 people capsized on Zangke River, officials said in a statement.
So far, 31 people have been rescued and 9 bodies have been recovered from the water, according to local sources.
Local law enforcement agencies have launched an investigation into the causes of the incident. (ILKHA)
