Typhoon Chanthu heads toward Japan
Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) warned that Typhoon Chanthu was moving towards Japan.
“Typhoon Chanthu is likely to bring violent winds as it approaches a remote island chain in Okinawa Prefecture through Sunday to Monday,” the agency said.
The agency called on people to take shelter in stronger buildings in their area and stay away from windows.
“The typhoon may bring extremely heavy rain in parts of Okinawa region until tomorrow,” the agency warned, urging people to pay attention to updated meteorological information such as warnings and advisories for heavy rain, strong winds, and high waves. (ILKHA)
