Turkey’s lignite production increases by %9.4 in June
Marketable production of lignite was 6 million 520 thousand 151 tons in June, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement on Tuesday.
Marketable production of lignite increased by 9.4% in June compared to the previous month and by 29.1% compared to the same month of the previous year, according to the statement.
Marketable production of hard coal was 100 thousand 898 tons in June
Marketable production of hard coal increased by 25.2% in June compared to the previous month. On the other hand, it decreased by 4.0% compared to the same month of the previous year.
Marketable production of coke derived from hard coal was 372 thousand 324 tons in June. This production decreased by 1.4% compared to the previous month and whilst it increased by 2.1% compared to the same month of the previous year.
Imports of hard coal was 2 million 797 thousand 387 tons in June
Imports of hard coal increased by 28.6% in June compared to the previous month and whilst it decreased by 11.9% compared to the same month of the previous year.
Imports of coke derived from hard coal decreased by 48.5% in June compared to the previous month and it increased by 75.0% compared to the same month of the previous year.
The highest ratio of production to deliveries was in lignite in June
The highest ratio of production to deliveries was in lignite by 107.0% in June. This ratio was 80.4% for coke derived from hard coal and 3.5% for hard coal.
Hard coal and lignite were delivered mostly to thermal power plants
Concerning the deliveries of solid fuels in June, 49.2% of hard coal was delivered to thermal power plants, 17.9% to coking plants and 17.2% to industry (except iron and steel industry). Additionally, 80.7% of lignite was delivered to thermal power plants and 11.4% to industry (except iron and steel industry). Lastly, 95.4% of coke derived from hard coal was delivered to iron and steel industry. (ILKHA)
