Over 11 kilograms of marijuana seized in eastern Turkey
Turkish security forces have seized 11 kilograms of marijuana in Malatya, eastern Turkey.
The cannabis was seized when anti-narcotic gendarme teams searched a car in the Kale district, the provincial governorate said in a statement.
Three suspects were arrested on charges related to marijuana trafficking, the statement said.
The suspected drug dealers will be brought before the court after the police investigation is completed.
Turkey maintains strict laws against the use, possession, or trafficking of illegal drugs. If convicted under these offenses, one could receive a heavy fine or a prison sentence of 4 to 24 years. (ILKHA)
