At least 219 prisoners escape from a jail in Uganda
Uganda’s military and security forces are pursuing a group of 219 inmates who escaped in a massive prison break.
“219 inmates have escaped from a prison in the Moroto region in the northeastern part of the country,” said Peter Magisha, a military spokesman, in a statement to the press.
Magisha stated that at least one soldier and 3 prisoners lost their lives in the events that broke out during the escape.
While 7 of the escaped inmates were captured by security forces, air and land searches were started to find the others. (ILKHA)
