Erdoğan: We will rebuild all the flood-stricken districts and villages
Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered remarks in Güneysu after visiting flood-hit areas in Rize, which is a picturesque, high-pasture, and mountainous city of the Black Sea region.
Addressing citizens in Güneysu after visiting the flood-hit areas in Rize, President Erdoğan said: “We will rebuild all the flood-stricken districts and villages, particularly those in Güneysu, in a nicer, safer, and more comfortable manner.”
“We mobilized all the capabilities of the state the moment we received reports of the disaster”
Noting that 8 people were lost in the flood and 5 were injured, President Erdoğan said: “Bodies of 6 of our missing brothers and sisters were recovered. All our units are exerting great efforts to find the remaining two. Works are underway to find our missing citizen in Murgul. All the injured citizens have been discharged following their treatment.”
“We mobilized all the capabilities of the state the moment we received reports of the disaster,” Erdoğan said, and further stated: “Water is supplied to the entire disaster area, and there is no problem in drinking water, energy or communication.”
“We will build a total of 550 buildings”
“In the first stage, we will build a total of 550 buildings for the structures that were affected by the flood disaster on July 15 and are at risk of disaster across Rize,” Erdoğan said.
“Inshallah, we will complete the houses within a year,” Erdoğan underlined. “We will rebuild all the flood-stricken districts and villages, particularly those in Güneysu, in a nicer, safer, and more comfortable manner.”
Erdoğan prayed for Allah’s mercy upon the citizens who lost their lives, extended his condolences to their loved ones, and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
After visiting the flood-hit areas in Rize, Erdoğan was briefed at the AFAD center and met with the families of the citizens who lost their lives. (ILKHA)
