Turkey: The overall export unit value index increases by 13.1%
As compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year, the overall export unit value index increased by 13.1% in May, the Turkish Statistical Institute said.
In the same month, compared to May 2020, the index for food, beverages, and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels), fuels, and manufactured goods (except food, beverages, and tobacco) increased by 3.1%, 25.3%, 126.3%, and 11.3%, respectively.
The overall export volume index increased by 46.6%
The overall export volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year increased by 46.6% in May. Compared with May 2020, the index for food, beverages, and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels), fuels, and manufactured goods (except food, beverages, and tobacco) increased by 26.8%, 37.0%, 38.7%, and 57.3%, respectively.
The overall import unit value index increased by 29.1%
As compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year, the overall import unit value index increased by 29.1% in May. The index for food, beverages, and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels), fuels, and manufactured goods (except food, beverages, and tobacco) increased by 12.4%, 50.9%, 100.1%, and 21.1%, respectively.
The overall import volume index increased by 19.3%
In May, the overall import volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year increased by 19.3%. While the index for food, beverages and tobacco decreased by 34.7%, the index for crude materials (except fuels), fuels, and manufactured goods (except food, beverages, and tobacco) increased by 10.4%, 21.9%, and 40.0%, respectively.
