Erdoğan: We included cultural aspect in our designs for urban transformation
Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed citizens during the Housing Development Administration (TOKI) 1,000,000th Residence's Key Delivery Ceremony in Ankara.
In a speech at the TOKI 1,000,000th Residence's Key Delivery Ceremony, Erdoğan said: “We have introduced solutions that address the nation’s needs through urban transformation practices. Saying that ‘physical transformation alone is not enough,’ we have included cultural, economic and social aspects in our designs for urban transformation through a brand-new approach.”
Drawing attention to the critical steps taken in the past 19 years to address Turkey’s housing needs, Erdoğan said: “Behind this success lie a broad vision, good preparation, hard work, and our strong ties of affection with the people. Accordingly, when we first assumed the responsibility to govern the country, we said ‘fair planning first’ and put an end to exploitation. We said ‘there can be no urbanization with inadequate transportation and without infrastructure,’ and have taken all of our 81 cities, starting from Istanbul, to an upper league in terms of infrastructure, parking lots, and public transport.”
Erdoğan further stressed: “We have introduced solutions that address the nation’s needs through urban transformation practices. Saying that ‘physical transformation alone is not enough,’ we have included cultural, economic and social aspects in our designs for urban transformation through a brand-new approach.” (ILKHA)
