41 kg of heroin seized in eastern Turkey
Provincial Gendarmerie Command has seized 41 kg of heroin in the Çaldıran district of Turkey’s eastern Van province, the governor’s office said in a statement on Tuesday.
41 kilograms of heroin were seized in a field in the Çubuklu neighborhood of the Çaldıran district, according to the statement.
The operation is ongoing to nab the fugitive suspects, the statement said.
Turkey maintains strict laws against the use, possession, or trafficking of illegal drugs. If convicted under these offenses, one could receive a heavy fine or a prison sentence of 4 to 24 years. (ILKHA)
