Pointing out that negotiations between Turkey and the USA regarding the protection and operation of the Kabul airport in Afghanistan continue, HÜDA PAR said: “Negotiations between Turkey and the USA regarding the protection and operation of the Kabul airport in Afghanistan continue. Despite the Taliban's statement that the presence of Turkey and other foreign powers in the country will not be accepted, such a step would bring serious risks. Turkey should not operate under the umbrella of the USA and NATO, which have massacred tens of thousands of civilians in Afghanistan for 20 years. It is not in the interest of Afghanistan for Turkey to operate in the country on behalf of NATO. Turkey should strongly avoid being in a position to realize US goals.”

“The ongoing conflicts between the Taliban and the Kabul administration in Afghanistan today cause the death of civilians and make reconciliation difficult. The main way of stability is through the establishment of internal peace. Turkey should act in favor of the Afghan people during the negotiation process and should strive for political unity. Every step to be taken on behalf of NATO in Afghanistan will serve the interests of the United States and cause Turkey to become a target.”

“Turkey should mobilize all its resources to halt the death sentences in Egypt”

Calling on the Turkish government to mobilize all of its influence in order to stop executions in Egypt, HÜDA PAR continued as follows: “Eight years have passed since Mohammed Morsi, who was elected president by popular vote in the first free elections held in Egypt on July 3, 2013, was overthrown by a military coup. Thousands of people were killed, including women, children, and the elderly. Tens of thousands of people from many different layers of society, especially President Mohammed Morsi, ministers, deputies, academics, scholars, and journalists, were arrested and thrown into prisons. Hundreds of them were sentenced to death in the trials. The late Muhammed Mursi, Muhammed Mehdi Akif, and dozens of them died in the dungeon. Hundreds of innocent people were sentenced to death by the bespoke orders of military courts, which did nothing but carry out the orders of the junta. 91 of them were executed.”

“Finally, the death sentence of 12 people who served as a minister and a member of parliament, including Mohammed el- Beltagy, Secretary-General of the Freedom and Justice Party, the political wing of the Muslim Brotherhood Organization (Ikhwan), was upheld on 14 June. These decisions are political murders disguised as law and judiciary. It is cruelty and brutality.”

“No one should have any doubt that the decision will be executed unless serious pressure is put on the Sisi regime worldwide. It is the common duty of all people to stand against this junta and prevent the execution of innocent people. All other international institutions and organizations, especially the EU, the UN, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which put human rights on their tongues, should take action to stop these executions. Turkey should try to prevent the commission of this crime against humanity by mobilizing all its means in this regard,” HÜDA PAR concluded. (ILKHA)
