Iraq: 7 people killed; 11 others wounded in attacks on power plants
At least seven people were killed and 11 others wounded in attacks on power plants in the northern provinces of Salahuddin, Diyala and Kirkuk, the Iraqi officials said.
“The attacks against the Ministry of Electricity resulted in the death of 7, the wounding of 11, and the damage of (61) main lines,” Government Media Cell said.
No further details were provided on the perpetrators of the attacks.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attacks.
On the other hand, the Government Security Media Cell announced that the security forces had captured a cache belonging to the ISIL containing dozens of explosive devices intended to target the electrical transmission towers in the north of the country. (ILKHA)
