"Turkey should not act on behalf of NATO that has killed thousands of civilians in Afghanistan"
HÜDA PAR has issued a statement regarding Turkey’s proposal to guard the Kabul International Airport.
Reminding that Turkey’s proposal has been accepted by the United States, which has withdrawn some of its troops from the region while being rejected by the Taliban on the grounds that Turkey is a NATO ally, HÜDA PAR said: “The fact that Turkish forces will conduct its activities under the umbrella of NATO alliance increases the risk of conflict with Taliban members. Turkey’s presence in Afghanistan, which will gain its independence after a 20-year occupation, should not be on behalf of the NATO alliance, which has become a satellite of the United States. Turkey should take an initiative in Afghanistan in order to end the clashes between Afghan forces and Taliban fighters, to establish internal peace, to stabilize and restore Afghanistan.”
HÜDA PAR underlined that the way to improve security in Afghanistan is to conciliate between the local groups involved in the conflict.
Urging the Turkish government not to act on behalf of NATO, which has so far killed tens of thousands of civilians in Afghanistan, HÜDA PAR said: “Turkey should contribute to ensuring the peace and security of the friendly and fraternal Afghan people, and strive for the continuation of good relations between Ankara and Kabul.” (ILKHA)
