Turkey: 59,166 houses were sold in May
In Turkey, house sales increased by 16.2% in May 2021 compared to the same month of the previous year and became 59 thousand 166, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement on Monday.
İstanbul had the highest share with 19.2% and 11 thousand 356 house sales. The followers of İstanbul were Ankara with 5 thousand 653 house sales and İzmir with 3 thousand 298 house sales with the share of 9.6% and 5.6% respectively. The provinces where the lowest number of sales were Ardahan with 7, Hakkari with 11, and Bayburt with 26 house sales.
10 thousand 560 ownerships of the houses changed by mortgaged sales
The mortgaged house sales in Turkey became 10 thousand 560 by decreasing 42.9% compared to the same month of the previous year. House sales with mortgage had 17.8% share of all house sales. İstanbul had the highest share with 20.9% and 2 thousand 210 mortgaged sales. Ardahan had the lowest number of mortgaged sales with 1 house sales. Mortgaged sale did not realize in Hakkari and Şırnak.
Ownership of 48 thousand 606 houses changed by other sales
Other house sales in Turkey became 48 thousand 606 by increasing 49.8% compared to the same month of the previous year. In the other sales, İstanbul was the first province with 9 thousand 146 sales and 18.8% share. Other house sales had 80.5% share of all house sales in İstanbul. Ankara was the second province with 4 thousand 277 sales. Ankara was followed by İzmir with 2 thousand 560 sales. The province where the lowest number of other sales was Ardahan with 6 sales.
18 thousand 204 houses were sold for the first time
First-time sales in Turkey became 18 thousand 204 by increasing 8.0% compared to the same month of the previous year. First-time sales had 30.8% share of all house sales in Turkey. The highest number of first-time sales was in İstanbul with 3 thousand 153 sales and share with 17.3%. The followers of İstanbul were Ankara with a thousand 156 house sales and İzmir with 858 house sales.
Ownership of 40 thousand 962 houses changed by second-hand sales
Second-hand house sales in Turkey became 40 thousand 962 by increasing 20.2% compared to the same month of the previous year. In second-hand sales, İstanbul was the first province with 8 thousand 203 sales and 20.0% share. Share of the second-hand sales was 72.2% in İstanbul in total house sales. Ankara was the second province with 4 thousand 479 sales and Ankara was followed by İzmir with 2 thousand 440 sales.
Houses sales decreased by 3.8% in the January-May period
In the January-May period, 418 thousand 79 houses were sold and decreased by 3.8% compared to the same period of the previous year. Mortgaged sales were 75 thousand 290 and decreased by 54.3%. In other sales, it was 342 thousand 789 and increased by 27.0%. In this period, houses sold for the first time decreased by 8.2% and became 127 thousand 786. Second-hand house sales decreased by 1.8% and became 290 thousand 293.
In May, a thousand 776 houses were sold to foreigners
House sales to foreigners became a thousand 776 by increasing 106.5% compared to the same month of the previous year. İstanbul was the first province with 818 sales to foreigners in May. The followers of İstanbul were Antalya with 341 house sales, Ankara with 106, Mersin with 80, and Sakarya with 75 house sales to foreigners.
In the January-May period, house sales to foreigners became 15 thousand 740 by increasing 24.9% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Most house sales were made to Iraq citizens according to country nationalities
In May, Iraqi citizens bought 239 houses from Turkey. The followers of Iraq citizens were Iran with 231 house sales, Russia with 119, Afghanistan with 98, and German citizens with 87 house sales. (ILKHA)
