At least 3 dead in China mine accident
Rescue workers have recovered the bodies of three miners on Monday after an iron mine flooding trapped 13 workers in the Daixian County of China’s northern Shanxi Province, on June 10.
“Rescue crews are making every effort to search for the trapped miners and sets of drainage equipment are operating in full capacity,” the headquarters in charge of the rescue operation said.
Government figures from China indicate that 5,000 Chinese miners die in accidents each year, while other reports have suggested a figure as high as 20,000. (ILKHA)
