Turkish police seize 101 kg of heroin in eastern Turkey
One suspect was arrested on charges of drug trafficking in the Yüksekova district of Turkey’s eastern Hakkari province on Tuesday.
A total of 101 kg of heroin was seized during a search in a creek bed in the Yüksekova district, the governor’s office said in a statement.
The suspected drug dealer will be brought before the court after the police investigation is completed.
Turkey maintains strict laws against the use, possession, or trafficking of illegal drugs. If convicted under these offenses, one could receive a heavy fine or a prison sentence of 4 to 24 years. (ILKHA)
