8 people killed after a mountaintop cable car crashes to ground in northern Italy
Eight people have died and two others wounded when a cable car plunged to the ground in the Piedmont region of northern Italy.
According to Italy’s Alpine Rescue Service, the cable was carrying 11 people when the accident took place.
“Two children who injured in the crash were taken to hospital by air ambulances,” said Walter Milan, a spokesman for the National Alpine Rescue Service.
The officials cited a cable failure as a possible cause of the accident. (ILKHA)
