As Turkey continues its efforts to rally support from all relevant international institutions, particularly the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to support Palestine, Erdoğan has held phone conversations with heads of nearly 20 states and governments from Palestine to Russia, from Qatar to Pakistan, from Kuwait to Algeria thus far.

Erdoğan urged the leaders to take effective and united actions against Israeli attacks and oppression on Palestinian Muslims, Al-Aqsa Mosque, Al-Quds, and Gaza. Getting in touch first with President Mahmoud Abbas of Palestine and Head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh, Erdoğan has discussed Israel's attacks on Palestine since May 8 with President Vladimir Putin of Russia, Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar, King Abdullah II of Jordan, Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, King of Malaysia Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, President Joko Widodo of Indonesia, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of Algeria, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan, Prime Minister Imran Khan of Pakistan, President Ersin Tatar of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan, President Ashraf Ghani of Afghanistan, Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi of Iraq, President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria, Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh of the Government of Unity of Libya, Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman, former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad of Malaysia.

Messages were given by President Erdoğan

During the phone conversations, Erdoğan described Israel's attacks as "terrorism" and stated that he strongly condemned the persecution of Palestinian Muslims. Pointing out that they started their initiatives at every level to mobilize the entire world, especially the Islamic world, to put an end to Israel's terrorism and occupation, Erdoğan emphasized that Turkey would always continue to be a supporter of the Palestinian cause, stand by its Palestinian brothers and sisters and protect the dignity of Al-Quds.

Indicating that the zionist regime's unlawfulness and inhumane attacks were essentially addressed to all Muslims, Erdoğan drew attention to the importance of concerted action to stop Israel's attacks immediately, to ensure that the international community would give a strong and deterrent reaction to these attacks, to take concrete steps against unlawful practices, and to support Palestine.

Erdoğan pointed out that it was important that the United Nations Security Council intervened in the matter before the crisis further worsened, and efforts should be exerted to send an international peacekeeping force to the region in order to protect the Palestinian civilians.

Moreover, upon the directive of Erdoğan, the Presidency of Religious Affairs held an "Extraordinary Meeting on Al-Quds" with the agenda of "Al-Aqsa Mosque and Al-Quds", which was attended by the Religious Affairs Ministers and Presidents as well as Grand Muftis from Islamic countries.

At the meeting, a united stance was taken regarding the protection of the sanctity of Al-Quds and the termination of persecution of Palestinian Muslims. (ILKHA)
