Iran’s coronavirus death toll rises to 74,910
Iran has reported 386 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 74,910, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Sunday.
After 14,141 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 2,654,811 in the country.
There are at least 5,538 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 2.1 million patients have been discharged from hospital after being cured.
So far, more than 17,069,126 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 3,298,916 with 158,402,859 cases and more than 135,902,406 recoveries. (ILKHA)
