Turkish police seize 216 kg of heroin in eastern Turkey
One suspect was arrested on charges of drug trafficking in the Tuşba district of Turkey’s eastern Van province on Tuesday.
A total of 216 kg of heroin was seized during a search in a car in the Tuşba district, the Provincial Police Department said in a statement.
The suspected drug dealer, C.K. identified by initials, will be brought before the court after the police investigation is completed.
Turkey maintains strict laws against the use, possession, or trafficking of illegal drugs. If convicted under these offenses, one could receive a heavy fine or a prison sentence of 4 to 24 years. (ILKHA)
