Rouhani: Coronavirus pandemic is not going to end soon
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani urged all departments to control eastern borders in order not to face a similar situation with the British virus.
“All relevant agencies, according to the responsibilities assigned to them in the General Staff of the Armed Forces, including the police, governorates and provincial headquarters of fighting coronavirus, are required to act in a coordinated manner,” Rouhani said at the meeting of the chairmen of the Specialized Committees of the National Task Force Against Coronavirus.
Rouhani referred to the outbreak of the disease throughout the country, adding: “Given the many mutations we are witnessing from this virus, it seems that this disease is not going to end soon and the only sure way to break the chain and reduce the infection cases is to fully comply with health protocols.”
"Despite the efforts being made in the field of vaccines around the world, given the doubts that experts have about the full effectiveness of vaccines in future mutations, we cannot be so sure about vaccination, so following the protocols and avoiding unnecessary gatherings is still the only effective solution in dealing with the disease".
Referring to the participation of the private sector in the import of foreign vaccines, Rouhani once again instructed the Ministry of Health to cooperate fully with the private sector in this regard and provide the necessary facilities for the participation of the private sector in this field.
He also emphasized: “Considering the experience we had last year regarding Qadr nights, we hope to be able to observe health protocols in full so that we can take full advantage of these precious nights.”
Iran has so far reported over 2,5 million cases of the virus since its outbreak in February last year. A total of 71,758 have died from it. (ILKHA)
