Hamas delegation meets Qatar’s foreign minister in Doha
A high-level delegation from the Hamas Movement led by head of its political bureau Ismail Haneyya met in Doha with Qatari foreign minister Mohamed Al Thani on Thursday.
The meeting was attended by the deputy head of Hamas’s foreign political bureau Mousa Abu Marzouq and political bureau members Ezzat al-Resheq and Husam Badran.
According to a statement released by Hamas, the delegation and the Qatari foreign minister had in-depth discussions on several issues of mutual interest and the latest developments pertaining to the Palestinian question.
The Hamas delegation briefed the Qatari minister on the zionist regime’s recent aggressive practices in the holy city of Jerusalem and the steadfastness of the Palestinian people there in the face of different violations.
The delegation highlighted the importance of Jerusalem as the focal point of the Palestinian struggle against the occupation and confirmed the Palestinian people’s upholding of their rights fully in the holy city.
The Hamas leadership also talked about the Palestinian struggle against Israel’s Judaization activities in the holy city and its attempts to control the Aqsa Mosque.
As for the elections, the delegation asserted the Movement’s insistence on holding the Palestinian elections for the presidency, the legislative council, and the national council and pointed to Israel’s attempts to thwart the Palestinian efforts to hold them, especially in Jerusalem. (ILKHA)
