Turkish police seize 51 kg of heroin in eastern Turkey
One suspect was arrested on charges of drug trafficking in the Çaldıran district of Turkey’s eastern Van province on Wednesday.
A total of 51 kg of heroin was seized during a search in a house in the Gülyolu neighborhood of Çaldıran district, the governor’s office said in a statement.
The suspected drug dealer will be brought before the court after the police investigation is completed.
Turkey maintains strict laws against the use, possession, or trafficking of illegal drugs. If convicted under these offenses, one could receive a heavy fine or a prison sentence of 4 to 24 years. (ILKHA)
