Iraqi officials: 82 people killed in Baghdad hospital fire
Iraq’s Interior Ministry said that 82 people had died in a fire at a hospital where coronavirus patients were being treated in Baghdad.
At least 110 patients' relatives reportedly suffered injuries because of a lack of oxygen due to intense smoke from the fire at Ibn al-Hatip Hospital.
The cause of the fire is not known but the Iraqi Civil Defense Directorate said extinguishing work in the hospital was complete and an investigation into the incident was launched.
Three days of mourning declared in Iraq after the disaster.
