Austria's Health Minister Anschober resigns citing health reasons
Austria's Minister for Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection Rudolf Anschober announced Monday his resignation due to health problems and overworking.
He said that he couldn’t continue in the grueling job of helping lead the country’s coronavirus response because of persistent personal health problems caused by overwork.
Heute kündige ich meinen Abschied aus der Bundesregierung an. In Zeiten der Pandemie braucht es einen Gesundheitsminister, der zu 100 Prozent fit ist. Das bin ich derzeit nicht.
Rudolf Anschober has served as Minister of Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection in the government of Chancellor Sebastian Kurz since January 2020. (ILKHA)
