Iran releases South Korean vessel seized in January
Iran's foreign ministry has confirmed that the South Korean vessel Hankuk Chemi that was seized by the IRGC in the Strait of Hormuz in January had been released.
“Following the completion of the investigation into the violation of the Korean vessel Hankuk Chemi, and at the request of the owner and the Korean government, the order was issued by the prosecutor for its release,” an Iranian foreign ministry spokesman said.
At the time of the seizure, Iran said the tanker was carrying 7,200 tons of oil chemical products and accused it of repeated infringement of maritime environmental laws. (ILKHA)
