HÜDA PAR: Shame on the imperial powers that do not fulfill their responsibility in Syria!
HÜDA PAR Chairman Ishak Sağlam described the US Secretary of State’s remarks at the Syria conference as “crocodile tears”.
Sağlam has made important statements regarding the online donors conference “Supporting the future of Syria and the region”, which was co-chaired on 29-30 March 2021 by the European Union and the United Nations.
Stating that the international actors who did not show the will to support a political solution have failed on Syria, Sağlam said: “During the conference, the nations pledged $6.4 billion in aid to help tackle war-ravaged Syria's deepening humanitarian and economic crises and assist neighboring countries hosting refugees, coming up short of the $10 billion the U.N. had hoped for. Since the beginning of the civil war, the international actors, who did not show the will for a political solution, as well as those who were actively involved in the war, have failed on Syria. The expression “shame on us if we do not fulfill our responsibility” made by the US Secretary of State, who uses the Syrian territory as the ground for the proxy war, is nothing but crocodile tears. Yes, indeed, shame on the imperial powers that paved the way for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of civilians, caused millions of people to leave their homes, and turned Syria into a bloodbath.”
“The Islamic world has to put an end to this drama by taking responsibility”
Sağlam said: “The Islamic world, which leaves their Syrian brothers at the mercy of blood-sucking forces and refrains from taking steps for 13 million Syrians trying to survive, is also responsible for the humanitarian tragedy in Syria. The assistance required for civilians in need of urgent humanitarian assistance should be provided urgently. Unless there is no political solution for Syria, the humanitarian plights will worsen drastically. The Islamic world has to take responsibility to put an end to this tragedy.” (ILKHA)
