Turkey: House sales decrease by 31.6% in February
In February, 81 thousand 222 houses were sold in Turkey, THE Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement on Monday.
In Turkey, house sales decreased by 31.6% in February 2021 compared to the same month of the previous year and hence, became 81 thousand 222, according to the statement.
İstanbul had the highest share with 19.6% and 15 thousand 929 house sales. The followers of İstanbul were Ankara with 7 thousand 757 house sales and İzmir with 4 thousand 659 house sales with the share of 9.6% and 5.7% respectively. The provinces where had the lowest number of sales were Bayburt with 27, Ardahan with 31, and Tunceli with 34 house sales.
14 thousand 669 ownership of the houses changed by mortgaged sales
The mortgaged house sales in Turkey became 14 thousand 669 by decreasing 66.5% compared to the same month of the previous year. House sales with mortgages had an 18.1% share of all house sales. İstanbul had the highest share with 21.6% and 3 thousand 174 mortgaged sales. The provinces where had the lowest number of mortgaged sales were Bayburt and Hakkari with 1 house sales. The mortgaged sale did not realize in Ardahan.
Ownership of 66 thousand 553 houses changed by other sales
Other house sales in Turkey became 66 thousand 553 by decreasing 11.3% compared to the same month of the previous year. In the other sales, İstanbul was the first province with 12 thousand 755 sales and 19.2% share. Other house sales had an 80.1% share of all house sales in İstanbul. Ankara was the second province with 6 thousand 55 sales. Ankara was followed by İzmir with 3 thousand 653 sales. The province where had the lowest number of other sales was Bayburt with 26 sales.
24 thousand 737 houses were sold for the first time
First-time sales in Turkey became 24 thousand 737 by decreasing 33.7% compared to the same month of the previous year. First-time sales had a 30.5% share of all house sales in Turkey. The highest number of first-time sales was in İstanbul with 4 thousand 510 sales and share with 18.2%. The followers of İstanbul were Ankara with a thousand 716 house sales and İzmir with a thousand 335 house sales.
Ownership of 56 thousand 485 houses changed by second-hand sales
Second-hand house sales in Turkey became 56 thousand 485 by decreasing 30.7% compared to the same month of the previous year. In the second-hand sales, İstanbul was the first province with 11 thousand 419 sales and 20.2% share. Share of the second-hand sales was 71.7% in İstanbul in total house sales. Ankara was the second province with 6 thousand 41 sales and Ankara was followed by İzmir with 3 thousand 324 sales.
House sales decreased by 34.7% in the January-February period
In the January-February period, 151 thousand 809 houses were sold and decreased by 34.7% compared to the same period of the previous year. Mortgaged sales were 25 thousand 401 and decreased by 70.5%. In other sales, it was 126 thousand 408 and decreased by 13.7%. In this period, 47 thousand 5 houses sold for the first time and decreasing by 35.9%. Second-hand house sales were 104 thousand 804 and decreased by 34.1%.
In February, 2 thousand 964 houses were sold to foreigners
House sales to foreigners became 2 thousand 964 by decreasing 26.0% compared to the same month of the previous year. İstanbul was the first province with a thousand 525 sales in February. The followers of İstanbul were Antalya with 533 house sales, Ankara with 211, Mersin with 138, and Samsun with 64 house sales.
In the January-February period, house sales to foreigners became 5 thousand 639 by decreasing 28.7% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Most house sales were made to Iran citizens according to country nationalities
In February, Iran citizens bought 477 houses from Turkey. The followers of Iran citizens were Iraq with 432 house sales, Russia with 259, Afghanistan with 230, and Kazakhstan citizens with 119 house sales. (ILKHA)
