“It is an open freedom of expression to shoot such videos and share them on social media platforms without resorting to methods of oppression and violence,” said MAZLUMDER (The Association for Human Rights and Solidarity for the Oppressed).

On Tuesday, four women who shot a video on the 100th anniversary of the abolition of the Caliphate were detained in Ankara, the capital of Turkey.

The women that shot the video in the Amuriye region of Afyonkarahisar province demanded the resurrection of the Caliphate which was abolished by the Ankara government in 1924.

Under the “One Hundred Years Without Caliphate is Enough” campaign, which was launched by Hizb ut-Tahrir members on the 100th anniversary of the abolition of the Caliphate, many videos were shot and shared on the social media platform.

Since the beginning of February, Turkish police have arrested eleven people for involving in this campaign. (ILKHA)
