Palestinian factions conclude successful round of talks in Cairo
Member of Hamas Political Bureau Dr. Khalil Al-Hayya has released a statement regarding the first round of Palestinian factions’ talks in Cairo.
Al-Hayye noted that the Palestinian factions had agreed on the mechanism to hold the Palestinian National Council, the parliamentarian and presidential elections.
“The Palestinian factions agreed on the formation of elections court which will have exclusive jurisdiction over the Palestinian elections. Any other courts will be neutralized. The Palestinian factions agreed to guarantee freedom of speech and carrying out electoral campaigns across the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.”
He stated that they also agreed on the political grounds for the elections.
“The Palestinian factions also agreed to return to Cairo next month to discuss how to form the new Palestinian national council by elections,” he added. (ILKHA)
