Iran's death toll from Covid-19 rises by 80
Iran has reported 80 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 58,336, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Friday.
After 7,061 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 1,452,380 in the country.
There are at least 3,819 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than, 1,241,320 patients have been discharged from hospital after being cured.
So far, at least 9,504,930 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 2,296,438 with 105,500,882 cases and more than 77,199,283 recoveries. (ILKHA)
