Iran records 6,597 daily confirmed cases of COVID-19
Iran has reported 79 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 58,038, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Monday.
After 6,597 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 1,424,596 in the country.
There are at least 3,896 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 1,216,305 patients have been discharged from hospital after being cured.
So far, more than 9.34 million tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 2,239,044 with 103,583,192 cases and more than 75,205,611 recoveries. (ILKHA)
