After 6,317 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 1,411,731 in the country.

There are at least 3,964 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 1,202,893 patients have been discharged from hospital after being cured.

So far, more than 9,230,376 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
